Gegun Ayetoro-Oke Wears Beaded Crown Oba






Ayetoro-Oke, an ancient town in Kajola Local Government Area of Oyo State on Tuesday 25th April, 2023 received unprecedented crowd when the Gegun of Ayetoro-Oke Land, His Royal Majesty Oba Najeemdeen Afolabi Osuolale Adesola Adelaja (Tukuru II) became a beaded crown king. The memorable event took place at Baptist Primary School Ayetoro-Oke playing ground.
While presenting the Staff of office to Oba Najeemdeen Adelaja, Governor Seyi Makinde of the State who was represented by Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters Mr. Joel Ajagbe Olaleye congratulated the newly crowned Oba and advised him to distant himself from anything that could stain his dignity among Obas, chiefs and his people.
He also sought the opportunity to charged the people of the town to continue giving support to the Makinde’s led administration in Oyo State. 
Speaking at the conferment of Obaship title and wearing of beaded crown of Gegun, the Onjo of Okeho land, and the Chairman Kajola Local Government Traditional Council, His Royal Majesty Oba (Dr.) Rafiu Osuolale Mustapha (Adeitan II) said the status of Obaship was meant to serve and keep peace among the people in the community. Oba Mustapha enjoined sons and daughters of Ayetoro-Oke at home and abroad to cooperate with the newly crowned Oba morally, financially and mentally adding that the salary of an Oba cannot be enough to maintain the Obaship needs as he has been promoted to higher rank.
Also speaking, the Okere of Saki land, His Royal Majesty Oba Khalid Olabisi congratulated Gegun of Ayetoro-Oke Oba Adelaja and urging him not to relent in his efforts aimed at taking the town to the promise land.
Delivered his speech, the Chairman of Kajola Local Government Alhaji (Hon.) Salimonu Afolabi Borikansunwon appealed to all Obas and Chiefs in the Local Government to cooperate and rally round each others in order to move the Local Government and their Communities forward to eschew unnecessary rivalry and bitter envy.
He also congratulated the newly crowned Oba to see his elevation as called to service.
Responding the Gegun of Ayetoro-Oke Oba Najeemdeen Afolabi Adelaja, appreciated the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Oluseyi Makinde for giving approval for him to be crowned with beaded crown.
He also thanked all Obas and Chiefs who graced the occasion especially the Onjo of Okeho and Okere of Saki and prayed that God will continue to be with them all. He equally appreciated the Chairman of Kajola Local Government, Alhaji Afolabi Borikansunwon, The Asiwaju of Ayetoro-Oke Chief Bisi Adesola and all sundry for their contributions to the success of the programme.
