Governor Makinde Seeks Support for Iwajowa Obas







The Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Oluseyi Makinde has urged the people of Ilaji-ile, Iwere-ile, Idiko-Ago and Idiko-Ile in Iwajowa Local Government Area of the State to cooperate with their new beaded crowned Obas in order to move their ancient towns forward socially, economically and culturally.
 Governor Makinde speaking through the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Barrister Olasunkanmi Olaleye during the official crowning ceremony of Oba Lawal Oyedepo O Alebiosu, Bajigan of Ilaji-ile, Oba, Rev/Evang John Odedokun , Ayinla Ilufemiloye, Oniwere of Iwere-ile, Oba Joseph Tewogbola Oyediran, Onidiko of Idiko-Ago, and Oba Nicolas Oyelami Folaranmi, Onidiko-Ile appreciated all the sons and daughters of the respective towns for their cooperation and maturity, adding that he was sure that the good names of the indigenes has been registered in the history of the towns.
 Speaking further, Governor Makinde congratulated the new Obas on their new status as a beaded Crown wearing Obas, wishing the Kings peaceful and long reign that will be remarkable for good development in their area.
 He also pledged his commitments to fulfillment of all promises made during the electioneering campaign of March 18, 2023, appreciated the people for maximum support and cooperation that eventually made his second term a reality.
 He showed his commitment to adequate security, quality education, effective health care services, sustainable value chained agriculture, attraction of foreign investors and fostering a prosperous economy among others.
 The Executive Chairman of Iwajowa Local government, Hon. Oyinloye Jelili Adebare welcome guests and well wishers to the august occasions of the coronation and staff of office presentation ceremony and more over wished them all journey mercy back to their various destinations. “Becoming a beaded Oba is divine and it comes with great responsibilities. It is on this note that I wish to implore His Royal Majesty as the traditional head of his towns to ensure cooperation and harmonies relationship with the government to fast track government developmental projects in their towns”. He said.
 Speaking before officially crowning the Obas as a crowning wearing monarchs in Yoruba land, His Royal Majesty Oba Khalid Olabisi, Okere of Saki and Sabiganna of Iganna Oba Soliu Azeez advised the newly crowned Obas to see their elevation as a service to served their communities, they added that they should embrace all religions of the people in their domains.
 They however congratulated the Obas on their historic coronation, prayed that their reign be synonymous with peace and unprecedented development, long may they reigns. In His Royal blessing, the Onjo of Okeho Oba Rafiu Osuolale Mustapha prayed for long life and prosperity for all Obas.
 All the Obas while speaking after their crowning ceremony expressed deep gratitude to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde for the kind approval given to them to be a beaded crown wearing Obas in the State. They assured the Governor that they would not be found wanting in the discharged of their duties as a royal fathers.
 They also extended that their warm appreciation to all the Kabiyesi that present for their love to them and all indigenes of their towns. They also appreciated efforts of the Iwajowa Council Chairman, The Vice Chairman and Iwajowa Local Government officials as well as coronation planning committee members for a job well done.
