COVID-19, KAJOLA LOCAL GOVERNMENT CHAIRMAN LAUNCHES OPERATION STAY SAFE AND KEEP HYGIENIC

The Caretaker Chairman Kajola Local Government Area, Alh.Hon.Salimonu Afolabi Borikansunwon today launched the use of sanitizers and other protective materials in his local government area. In accordance with the World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines and protective measures to stop the spread of Covid-19, he advised the people's of Kajola LG to stay safe and be keeping hygienic environment at all time. He commends the efforts of Engr.Seyi Makinde in putting different measures to fighting against the spread of Covid-19 in our dear state.     In his words, he said he emulates the people's governor "Engr.Seyi Makinde" in campaigning against spread of Covid-19 at our grassroots level by providing sanitizers and protective materials for the people of his local government area. The chairman started with sensitization and followed it up by providing sanitization materials and other safety materials for the use of people. According to him, the materials will be distribut

Electricity: An Unavailable Basic Amenity in Okeho By Kayode Awojobi

In the past, electric bulbs have work to do virtually all year round because Okeho was renowned to have good supply of electricity but this is becoming history as the town currently is experiencing acute shortage of electricity in the last few years. Without any form of prejudice, the acute shortage of electricity have been one of the major challenges confronting Okeho, and this has stunted the economic growth and development of the town when compared to other major towns within Oke-Ogun. Asides agriculture, which is now impeded, the populace in the town and the local government in general rely solely on the electricity to do their daily artisan jobs, such as weldering, sawmilling, baking and host of other lucrative jobs which require electricity supply.  The shortage of electricity supply, which is being experienced, has brought a huge set back to the economic fortunes of Okeho as there has been a spike in the cost of production.  Inversely, the consumers/customers have to pay for it
